We've frozen prices at £20 this year (There is a small registration fee too, sorry, but this is unavoidable) and all that money goes to the John Ibbotson Fund. The routes are the same and the cake will be even more plentiful!

Another successful Cake Quest!
A huge thank you to all who took part in Sunday's Cake Quest, we hope you had a great day in the sunshine.
We also have to thank our wonderful volunteers and the brilliant Maxifuel who supported the event this year. Their nutritional expert Lynn Clay was on hand to give out their drinks, gels and bars to anyone who needed them.
The timings are now online for all riders. Just click on the Ibbos Cake Quest link on the left.

Not long to the Cake Quest now! We'll be closing online entry at midnight tomorrow. There will be spaces left for entry on the line, but not that many, so please do enter in advance if you want to be sure of a ride.
Several people have been in contact asking about start times. All riders are free to set off any time between 8 - 10am.
We recommend those doing the Carrot, and especially Fruit Cake, ride set off before 9am to ensure they give themselves plenty of time to get round.

The John Ibbotson Fund has received lots of good applications for funding for the 2012 season. All money raised from the Cake Quest goes towards backing these riders.

We're happy to confirm that this year's Cake Quest will have electronic timing, courtesy of Black Sheep timing. More news to come on the event in the next month or so as we work on getting a few cycling celebrities signed up.

The John Ibbotson fund announced this week that they would be funding Dan Kogan this year along with Sam Allen. Dan is already in Brittany getting stuck in to his racing.

You can now enter the 2011 Cake Quest via Active.com. As per last year there are four routes to chose from - three road rides through the Surrey Hills and one guided off road ride. The price has also come down to a nice round £20. (inc. registration fee)

To answer a few of your questions, the event centre (KT20 7SN) will open at 7:30am for registration.
The start will open at 8.00am and close at 10.00am.
Fruit Cake Course Riders should start aim to start between 8.00am – 9.00am
Carrot Cake Course Riders should aim to start between 8.30am – 9.30am
Jaffa Cake Course Riders should aim to start between 9.00am – 10.00am
Fairy Cake Course Riders will be lead out at 10am. Please note this is a lead ride and the course is not route marked.

John, or Ibbo to all who knew him, died of arythmagenic right ventricular dysplasia in September 2005, he was just 27.
The fund was set up in 2005 by his family and closest friends in memory of John.
The funds aim is aligned with John's passion for training young cyclists. Each year the fund financially and physically helps talented young cyclists to follow their dreams and race in Europe.
