Entry for the 2012 Cake Quest now open!

You can now enter the 2012 event online, just click on the 'CLICK HERE TO ENTER' button to the left and you'll be taken through to a secure login page (powered by Active.com).

We've frozen prices at £20 this year (There is a small registration fee too, sorry, but this is unavoidable) and all that money goes to the John Ibbotson Fund. The routes are the same and the cake will be even more plentiful!

Another successful Cake Quest!

A huge thank you to all who took part in Sunday's Cake Quest, we hope you had a great day in the sunshine.

We also have to thank our wonderful volunteers and the brilliant Maxifuel who supported the event this year. Their nutritional expert Lynn Clay was on hand to give out their drinks, gels and bars to anyone who needed them.

The timings are now online for all riders. Just click on the Ibbos Cake Quest link on the left.

Not long to the Cake Quest now! We'll be closing online entry at midnight tomorrow. There will be spaces left for entry on the line, but not that many, so please do enter in advance if you want to be sure of a ride.

Several people have been in contact asking about start times. All riders are free to set off any time between 8 - 10am.

We recommend those doing the Carrot, and especially Fruit Cake, ride set off before 9am to ensure they give themselves plenty of time to get round.

If you've entered, you should have received your rider information pack by now. If not, please drop us an email and let us know, we'll get one in pdf format right away.

The John Ibbotson Fund has received lots of good applications for funding for the 2012 season. All money raised from the Cake Quest goes towards backing these riders.

We're happy to confirm that this year's Cake Quest will have electronic timing, courtesy of Black Sheep timing. More news to come on the event in the next month or so as we work on getting a few cycling celebrities signed up.

Entries are coming in and they're limited to 300 this year, so please don't leave it late to sign up!

The John Ibbotson fund announced this week that they would be funding Dan Kogan this year along with Sam Allen. Dan is already in Brittany getting stuck in to his racing.

The John Ibbotson Fund's other event, the Fish and Hits night is on March 19 this year. We've almost sold out of tickets, so if you want one, a few or more, you'd better get in quick!

It's a fun evening of live music, fish and chips and a great raffle. Tickets are £15 each. Contact johnibbotsonfund@hotmail.com for more details.

Fancy getting your hands on an issue of Rouleur #1 AND helping the John Ibbotson Fund? Well now you can. The publishers of Rouleur are auctioning off five copies of their first ever issue (that regularly go for £100s on Ebay) and donating the money to the Ibbo Fund.

These are the LAST FIVE copies of the magazine ever to go on sale.

The auction is being done via blind email bid. Email the amount you wish to bid to ibbofund@rouleur.cc. The five highest bids will win one copy each.

We'll also be giving the five highest bidders free entry to the 2011 Cake Quest. Good luck - and get bidding!

You can now enter the 2011 Cake Quest via Active.com. As per last year there are four routes to chose from - three road rides through the Surrey Hills and one guided off road ride. The price has also come down to a nice round £20. (inc. registration fee)

You're all getting excited now. Rider packs will be sent out tomorrow.

To answer a few of your questions, the event centre (KT20 7SN) will open at 7:30am for registration.

The start will open at 8.00am and close at 10.00am.
 
Fruit Cake Course Riders should start aim to start between 8.00am – 9.00am

Carrot Cake Course Riders should aim to start between 8.30am – 9.30am

Jaffa Cake Course Riders should aim to start between 9.00am – 10.00am

Fairy Cake Course Riders will be lead out at 10am. Please note this is a lead ride and the course is not route marked.
