Online entry for the 2013 Ibbo Cake Quest has now gone live. We'd love to see you and your friends this September. All money raised goes to the John Ibbotson Fund. Check out the website to see how we help young cyclists develop.
We also aim to promote the fantastic work done by CRY. All this is done by friends and family of John Ibbotson who was taken from us in 2005. He is still missed by all who knew him.

Timings for the 2012 Cake Quest are now online as are the photographs - a nice momento of a memorable day.
Hope to see you all again next year. Lets face it, the weather couldn't be any worse. Could it?!
THANK YOU!
Well, despite the horrendus weather we had another great event. Thank you to everyone who braved the conditions and rode the event, we appreciate you turning out and supporting our event.
Of course the biggest thanks goes to everyone who made the event happen. Everyone on the fund - Sue, Sam, Simon, Russell, Rohan, Julia, Andy - and all the fantastic volunteer who helped on the day - Jane, Ben, Chrystal, Dave, Mark, Jay, Josh, Jerry, John, Brian, Steve, Tom and everyone in the Ibbotson family.
There will be more updates to come as we get links to the timings and photographs so keep an eye on the site and our Twitter feed - www.twtter.com/johnibbofund
See you next year!
All Cake Quest riders, please remember the following:
- You are riding on the open road. You must obey the highway code and ride in a courteous manor at all times.
- Bring enough food and water to get you round, the feed stations are there to supplement what you have.
- Bring any spares you may need, for example, spare inner tubes, tyre levers, a pump, chain and multi tool.
- Bring clothes suitable to the changing weather conditions. Some bad weather is forecast for tomorrow (thanks to a nasty hurricane out in the Atlantic) so please be prepared.
- Familiarise yourself with the route. It is signposted and we have some marshals, but it is down to you to know where you are going. You must also pay attention to our signs, and always be on the look out of them.
- Enjoy yourself! You will be riding your bike in an area of outstanding natural beauty. Take a look around you and smile.
All members of the John Ibbotson fund will be there on the day, including most of John's family. Be sure to come and say hello, and feel free to give us any feedback. We do this in our spare time to raise money for the fund, but we're always looking for ways to improve.
Online entry is now closed!
Saturday September 22, 2012
We have not closed online entry for tomorrow's Cake Quest to allow us to produce the sign-on sheets. However, we do have 80 places left for you to enter on the day. You will be able to enter the event up until 8.45am tomorrow, or until we sell out of places.

Quick announcement!
Sporting events would be nothing without volunteers. The Olympics needed 50,000, thankfully we need a lot fewer. We value them just as much though, as without them we wouldn't be able to put on the Cake Quest. So, even before the 2012 event we want to say a huge thank you to everyone who has already agreed to give up their free time and help make the event happen. THANK YOU!
We've had a few people asking about the Fairy Cake ride. We won't be running this off-road guided ride this year as we want to concentrate our efforts on the more popular road events. We hope you'll come ride them!

The fund was set up in 2005 by his family and closest friends in memory of John.
The funds aim is aligned with John's passion for training young cyclists. Each year the fund financially and physically helps talented young cyclists to follow their dreams and race in Europe.
